Captioning company strengthens Australian team
Vicky Ioannides will oversee all aspects of CSI’s contract to provide captioning services for television broadcaster ABC, including delivery and review, and will be based at CSI’s head office in Surry Hills, Sydney.
Before taking up her new role at the end of January, Vicky worked for WordWave International Asia, based in Hong Kong, where as Operations Manager she was responsible for running the company’s court reporting and litigation support contracts.
Says Vicky: “Having previously worked as a solicitor in Sydney I’m delighted to be returning to my homeland. And I’m excited by the challenge of managing such a key contract, building on the successes of the first year and working closely with ABC to improve services to our customers.”
Meanwhile, WordWave International Asia has appointed Jane Edwards as Vicky’s replacement in Hong Kong. Jane has previously worked in administrative and operational roles at companies in the UK, Germany and Asia, including most recently for Coca-Cola in Hong Kong.
WordWave International and ITFC Ltd set up CSI in 2004 with the aim of offering quality captioning and subtitling services around the world. In the UK, CSI provides offline captioning to a range of broadcasters including MTV and VH1, as well as the National Geographic and Discovery channels. As well as their work for ABC, WordWave and ITFC also provide around 80 hours per week of online captioning from their Australian offices for UK television channels ITV, ITV News, GMTV and RTE.
